Focusing primarily on family law litigation since 2001, Nolan has guided thousands of clients through difficult family law matters in Henderson County and East Texas.

Nolan offers a full range of mediation services and has been trusted by attorneys throughout East Texas to mediate complex family law matters in an effort to help parties come to a mutually agreeable resolution to save litigants cost and time.  He has successfully mediated numerous cases where litigants and their attorneys thought they would be unable to successfully resolve their case short of a trial.

He is a member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.

As the former Henderson County Attorney until 2001, Nolan represented Henderson County in a wide array of civil litigation and advised Henderson County Commissioners Court of various legal issues.

Nolan is past President of the Henderson County Bar Association and former Trinity Valley Community College instructor, where he taught courses in family law, criminal law and civil litigation.

Nolan Wickel graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992 with Bachelor’s Degrees in both Political Science and Philosophy.  While in Austin, Nolan interned at the Secretary of States Office at the Texas State Capital.

He attended law school at the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham Alabama, where he was a two-year member of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy.

Nolan graduated law school in 1997 and returned to Texas and was admitted to the Texas State Bar in that same year.

Nolan is married to Tammi Wickel, and she is his legal assistant.  The two have worked alongside each other in the family law practice of the firm since opening in 2001. Day and night, Nolan and Tammi work side by side to make sure his clients have the best strategies for a favorable outcome for his clients.

Nolan, Tammi, and their two sons, Gus and Jack, live in Athens Tx.  An avid outdoorsman, Nolan enjoys hunting and farming.  Nolan also coaches various youth sports organizations in the Athens community.
